Prime Minister Manmohan Singh yesterday doubted Nitish Kumar’s secular credentials after the latter stood next to fascist dictator Narendra Modi in the NDA’s Ludhiana rally. Following age-old wisdom that communalism is spreading like a virus, the PM yesterday likened it to swine flu and advised everyone to keep away from Nitish Kumar, especially the UPA’s allies. When confronted with the fact that he himself was in a party that also contained Jagdish Tytler and was, by his own logic, also communal, the PM issued no comment but instead launched a related attack on LK Advani. He also categorically denied that he was a weak PM, contradicting one of the earlier posts on this blog, but insisted that everyone else was actually stronger. At this juncture, he excused himself from the press conference to act in a Complan ad as the weak kid who is defeated in a running race by the child who drinks Complan (played ably by Rahul Gandhi).
In an unrelated event, ace pollster, pundit and psephologist PYogendra PYadav today released his latest Latest Poll Predictions. According to him, since people were fed up with the UPA and would never dare vote for the NDA, Praja Rajyam would emerge as the single largest party. When pressed for explanations, he boldly declared that, in fact, Praveen Amre would emerge as the single largest party, followed closely by music directors Anand-Milind.
