The Indian Railway Minister denied many things the day after saboteurs killed 100 people on a train. She first denied it was the Maoists and then allegedly vehemently denied she was taking violin classes. Sources that chose to remain anonymous tell Mindry.in that the little anecdote about Nero fiddling while Rome was burning seems to have captured the mindscape of a few pro-Trinamool historians. The story goes that the Trinamool’s ridiculous position about being anti-industrialization, anti-communist, anti-capitalist and anti-anti-Maoist but against Maoist violence, have left the leader of the second-most important party in the ruling coalition with little else to do but to see the metaphor through. Not to be one to be seen fiddling poorly, or worse, off-key(shudder) the leader was advised to start classes immediately by her intellectual friends.
These same sources have confirmed that Ms Bannerjee is doing very well with the fiddle indeed. ”Mamata sits in the first row, the second chair to the left and screams loudly about the communist students. It’s a hoot and a half. Like a re-run of that British show Mind Your Language,” alleged a classmate who wishes to be unnamed. “Her instructor seems to be either extremely impressed with her musical talents or is scared to do things in the national interest by condemning the Trinamool leader. As to who the instructor is… I’ll never tell.” The identity of the instructor is indeed unconfirmed and the Prime Minister’s office declined to comment. There are no confirmed reports of the PM instructing Mamata in the fine art of playing the fiddle as the trains burned. Andhra Pradesh CM Rosiah has also declined to comment.
Declassified and uncorroborated reports show that between February and May of 2010 over 100 acts of sabotage and nearly a dozen Improvised Explosive Devices were laid but did not result in casualties due to the trains being delayed by days. One alleged saboteur has allegedly been waiting for about 3 years for a train to pass but is still waiting for his day in the station. “There are also several parts of Chattisgarh and Jharkhand waiting for a train route to be sanctioned just so they can be blown up. The answer is of course to never bring development there and allow the national agenda to be taken hostage by a few morons with Kalashnikovs,” said one accomplished player of the Irish fiddle. The classes are scheduled to go on till the end of July when school summer vacations are set to end.
