Would Rajesh Khanna have ever stooped so low as to send email?

In a development that has divided the town, a local postman with 1.5 years on the job has been suspended by his boss for sending an email.

Ramesh Lakkasandrappa was allegedly caught by his supervisor on Thursday surfing the Internet and also most callously typing an email on the popular website gmail.com.

Ramesh’s immediate supervisor, often entrusted with delivering registered post and fan mail to celebs, back in the day, is thoroughly convinced that the suspension is justified. “In my day people would get us to read their letters because they were stupid and old. Now these youngsters go to school, for what may I ask? The telephone was the beginning but BSNL’s network has been so ridiculous in this part of the country for the last decade that it has never really posed a threat to us. I’ve beaten my son everyday for trying to read. I cannot have this kind of a traitorous dog in the department.
This email thing works in seconds when I would take a week. So what if Munni’s birthday is in September? She’ll be 3 for the rest of the year.

I’ve seen 14 prime ministers come and go. This email thing will also come and go.”

Meanwhile, Ramesh has pleaded innocent to the charges.

Ramesh handed over his statement to us in an in-land handwritten letter. “I’m a loyal servant. I went on strike when they
said strike and I worked semi-hard when they said work semi-hard. I don’t know what I’ve done wrong. I did not see anything at all on the Internet. I don’t even know how to stick a stamp on the screen. Of course, I haven’t sent any mail.
It was my niece’s birthday, she’s in the US. I was simply looking at the computer though. I don’t know what email, gmail and all.”

Senior officials were unavailable for comment, but it is believed that this action has set off a chain of unstoppable events. A high powered committee is looking to ban all star trek episodes featuring the transporter as the only thing keeping the postal system going is the parcel courier business. In an unrelated incident Leonard Nimoy reported getting death threats through postcards.Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg has allegedly delayed his trip to India for undisclosed reasons. Sabeer Bhatia has also been co-incidentally reported missing.
