Enraged by former Pakistan President Musharraf admitting to having trained militants against India, the Indian Government has reacted strongly and said that it would take “appropriate action”. Although the Government spokesperson didn’t specify what would entail that “appropriate action”, our sources tell us that the Government will continue with its now famous “dossier approach’.
The Government intends to take a print out of the press report where Musharraf is quoted to have said what he said and give it to him as proof of his involvement in the matter. The plan is to then ask Musharraf to take action against himself.
Reacting to this, ace human rights expert Ramesh Kulkarni says, “That the Government’s peaceful dossier approach is working is evidenced by the fact that a man like Musharraf is voluntarily and fearlessly admitting guilt. I strongly recommend we extend this dossier system internally as well where we make criminals accept mistakes by handing them dossiers instead of arresting and putting them on trial”.
Ace environmentalist Medha, though, believes, dossier approach is not environment friendly since too much paper is wasted. “I m ok with the Government’s dossier approach as long as the dossiers are sent through email and paper is not used”.
