Bangalore based software engineer Prathap Kumar has reportedly demanded his manager to immediately promote him as God. While the manager is expectedly in a state of shock, Prathap Kumar doesn’t find his demand untenable or unreasonable or unjust or un-whatever. “I have produced 6 billion lines of code in a short span of six years but still I am just a Slightly-More-Senior-Software-Engineer. I have produced as many lines of code as there are people on this planet. I feel like God. So I feel I should be given the designation God”, said a calm and composed Prathap.
Prathap’s manager is worried since Prathap might release the additional 1 billion lines of code where in the software starts printing random numbers juxtaposed with nude pictures and profanity. He has now started talking with the company HR to determine whether a one-off case can be made to create additional designation titled God.
“The problem is, if we designate him as God, what will God think of us? What will our CEO Padmanabh Kadambi think. What will Kannada film actor Upendra of the ‘I am God. God is great’ fame think? What do you think?”, blurted an emotionally charged HR of Kadambi Software where Prathap works. Meanwhile, Mr. Kadambi was not available for comment.
