The resignation of Bangalore based software engineer Anurag Gupta from Kadambi Software Solutions to move to a higher paying job would have been a mundane occurence in normal times. But these are not normal times as testified by Sourav Ganguly’s exclusion from the Kolkata IPL team after just three seasons of failure. When a man like Sourav Ganguly finds the time very testing, Anurag Gupta should be no exception. He, the opposition claims, resigned only after their successful boycott of Parliament as part of their ‘war on corruption’. The opposition has also demanded that the JPC that they are already demanding include Anurag Gupta in its ambit.
When pointed out that Anurag Gupta’s resignation had nothing to do with corruption and was merely a career move towards higher remuneration, opposition spokesperson Mr. Javdekar said this was ‘falsehood propogated by the Congress for the sake of votebank politics’. “Why did Anurag Gupta resign? I haven’t resigned from my party despite being just a spokesperson for so many years. The Government and Anurag Gupta have something to hide. We suspect Anurag Gupta might have been involved in corruption”.
Congress party, as a matter of habit, came out with a press statement saying ‘Nobody will be spared. Corrupt will be punished. Dr. Singh’s personal integrity is impeccable. RSS and BJP are playing divisive politics of hatred’. It also added that the Government will constitute a one man committee to look into all resignations of Anurag Gupta during the opposition regime as well. Meanwhile, Anurag Gupta is reportedly unfazed and is also unavailable for comment.
