Newspaper Admits Eagerly Waiting for Pun

A leading Indian daily has admitted to eagerly waiting for a pun its writers had thought of a day or so in advance. “Yes, they saw this award winning movie King’s Speech and then noticed that our PM was called Sing. Those two words rhyme you see… so it gets funny. You understood no?,” said/asked one alleged spokesman for the publication to this amateurish blogger.

“Yes, we tried to get the PM to make a speech during his press conference and asked him if we could call his press conference a speech. But then he didn’t want us to get the semantics wrong. So he said he’d make a proper speech soon and we could then use our little pun. And today, he made a speech! It was very exciting for us. Yes, definitely. That’s why we even shared this excitement with our readers.

No, no. Please don’t worry, we’re not out of puns. We have an animal trainer trying to get this black swan to commit suicide and we’re still trying to get the Karnataka Equestrian Club to hire guys from Israel with names like Ben Hur. No, of course, I can’t tell you tomorrow’s headline. Don’t be silly. No, no, please I have to go now.”
