Why Does DMK Spokesman Elangovan preface each detailed answer with “I don’t know”? This is a genuine question Mindry.in put to itself. Look at the transcript of his latest interview-
Cookie Cutter Reporter:
Sir, will the DMK withdraw support to the government led by the Congress party because Karunanidhi’s family is implicated in the 2G scam chargesheet now?
DMK Spokesman Elangovan:
I don’t know. There is no change in the alliance. The Congress is not running the investigation. It’s an investigative agency running the case for a few months now. It’s not a vendetta. So, essentially, no.
Cookie Cutter Reporter:
Sir, so is this is an admission of guilt?
DMK Spokesman Elangovan:
I don’t know. Look, we have nothing to do with this case, it’s a continuation of policy from previous governments both of the UPA and the NDA. So, no, we are not admitting guilt.
Cookie Cutter Reporter:
Sir, so what’s next?
DMK Spokesman Elangovan:
I don’t know. We’ll have a meeting, it’s more or less decided that we’ll react in a mature manner and how much clout we have will still be dependendant on the election results.
So, yes, he does know the answer to all the questions and is happy to share them. But why is he messing with us?
Perhaps, Elangovan wants to lower expectations. Perhaps, I’m just not over the fact that his boss, Kalaignar Karunanidhi, has lived the collective dream of all the writers of mindry.in. I mean, he is an atheist- millionaire-writer who’s married to several women with many TV shows/movies to his credit and he has enough political clout to last for generations, an inspiration to us all on this holy 27th.
