This infamous level is reported to be the primary reason for the shake-up at the top-level management at Infosys
Insiders have long been aware of the fact that bonuses and promotions for positions in the upper management of efficient companies are almost directly dependent on their High Scores in that gold standard of upper management video games: Brick Breaker. “Canadian phone company RIM has provided BrickBreaker as a uniform quantitative measure of how efficient a board member is. Anyone who says they don’t have time to generate a respectable top score is either lying or terrible at being upper management. A real top-level executive would spend all his/her time ruminating and playing BrickBreaker because he/she’d have delegated most of his/her tasks to capable people,” said former 8th standard student and stockbroker Thabish.
“Infosys, the face of new India, has been blessed with superbly efficient executives for years now. There is really no other way to break the tie. And it’s rumoured that Mr Pai, who’s expressed interest in nation building through education, can’t get past level 16, the infamous “U-level” of unbreakable bricks. Shibhu Lal has allegedly breezed past Level 16, sometimes without even losing a single ball. I mean, sure Mr Pai has put in 17- years is better looking and talks to the people with TV Channels more often, but his BrickBreaker score is just no good. What’s more, he knows it. He knows it has nothing to do with being a promoter or a serious stock-holder, his score is simply not good enough. What kind of a company would Infosys become if the high score of its CEO is something like 10000? I mean that’s Rank 412, 000!” thunderedThabish in a slightly deranged manner before his mum dragged him away to complete his homework from the agency that conducts entrance tests into the tuition house that coaches people to get into IIT.
There does seem to be circumstantial evidence to vindicate Thabish’ stand. Mr Pai’s on record hinting that Infosys runs the risk of becoming too conservative. It is believed that he was alluding to his sterling performance in the RTS game Civilization IV, where he is reputed to have one of the highest scores. Mr Pai is also rumoured to be the player DarkStar7 who holds the highest score in the 4x game Sins of the Solar Empire. It is unlikely that anyone is going to confirm this subversive report. Having said that, I’ve made no attempt to corrborate it but to google Nandan “level 26” Nilekani or Narayan “Catch Laser” Murthy. For what it’s worth, we wish Mr Pai the very best both with BrickBreaker and nation building.
