Shipra Mall's Food Court will not be a part of the UPA's strategy to undermine Anna Hazare's protest against corruption
Rumours indicated that the Delhi Police was almost about to take a suggestion from Mindry.in core writer Harish regarding sanctioning ground to the Hazare protest. The government of India had allegedly started monitoring Facebook and twitter due to a genuine fear of serious subversive activity. But it is not above plagiarizing creative ideas on how to maintain law and order.
“The suggestion on Mindry.in’s facebook page was to have the protest ground surrounded by pani puri stalls to subvert Anna’s sincere protest. But my sources tell me that the powers that be wanted to project the image of Delhi primarily being a sophisticated place that also happens to sap and undermine a sincere attack on corruption,” alleged one senior official on condition of anonymity.
“Shipra Mall is freaking awesome, and it’s in Ghaziabad. So it’s actually in Uttar Pradesh. This would have offered the central government truck loads of plausible deniability. The food court there is way more sophisticated than a ring of pani puri stalls. It’s also disrespectful as hell to Anna. So it would have been awesome for the government to try this. But I guess they chickened out in the end.”
Delhi Police officially only confirmed the final decision that Anna Hazare and other civil society activists have been granted a spot adjacent to the Firoz Shah Kotla Ground to hold their protest from Aug 16. No comment was offered on the food court idea.
