After Sharad Yadav’s “Don’t Make Fun of Politicians” Threat, Man Moves No-confidence Motion Against The Opposition

Sharad Yadav warned Team Anna not to make fun of politicians, lest the hitherto polite and smurf like politicians of India retaliate...verbally.

Inspired by Yashwant Sinha’s offer to resign a former unnamed bank manager who wished to remain anonymous drafted a “non-members bill” in parliament. Alleged NDA convenor Sharad Yadav’s threat to activists to not mock politicians was the final trigger. Yadav somehow implied that politicians hadn’t been relentlessly trying to discredit Team Anna for the last few months. He said that politicians would retaliate verbally to such insults. The surmise is that thus far they’ve been incredibly gentlemanly and polite.

The motion is a no-confidence motion against the opposition, demanding the leaders of the opposition step down. “Of course, India deserves a better government, but I’ll be damned if India doesn’t deserve a better opposition,” read the first two lines of the non-members’ bill.

“Unless Sharad Yadav was attending a secret parliament which didn’t have one in four settings washed out in the last seven or so years these allegations of the “system is great” are pretty silly. It’s also possible that Mr Yadav was attending this secret parliament with Smurfs, and other polite creatures where everyone says “May I” instead of “aye”. I am adamant about this bill against the opposition,” said the former bank manager.

The bill goes on to accuse the opposition of being hopeless at seizing on the government’s failures as well as being incapable of showing the least bit of consistency in its views for several years now starting with the nuclear deal. It accuses politicians of forming a labour union of sorts to defend each other’s interests no matter what their political affiliations. Essentially, subverting the representative’s contract with the people to act in the people’s interest. However, this person’s movement is not without its detractor.

A former 8th standard student had this to say. “This anonymous non-member’s bill is holding the opposition of this Lok Sabha responsible for the fallacies of the opposition of a previous Lok Sabha. They cannot be blamed for opposing the nuclear deal that their party had begun negotiations on earlier in the decade. That’s just not on. On corruption all major parties are in the wrong. So there’s no need to single out the BJP or the NDA. The others are also corrupt. That is the sum of my argument on this issue: Others are also corrupt. Yes.”

“I’d also like to add that Arun Jaitley made great speeches. And when public opinion turned to derision, the BJP did act. Would a bad party act only when they were forced to act, no, this is what good parties do. They also dragged out Yeddiurappa’s sacking like a good Indian political party should and promoted yeddy alias BSY from CM to Remote Control. What more can anyone ask of an opposition party? This opposition at the centre was duly elected by the people of the country to sit in a corner and whine. And whine they shall till their term is complete,” thundered the former high school student.

Neutral observers had this to say on this new people’s movement. “Firstly, this is a person’s movement not a people’s movement. There’s exactly one guy behind this bill. This person has no elected mandate and there’s no scope for a non-member’s bill in parliament under any section. So this movement won’t even have to be hoodwinked. It will simply fail.”

The former bank manager, however, chose not to relent. “I’m hopeful that the leaders of the opposition will be sacked along with the leaders of the government. I will move this resolution through UKG B section. I will prevail.”
